It is with great pleasure to announce the debut Australian tour of The Soft Moon this October. Converting sounds into the live realm will be a full live band to accompany instrumentalist, singer, producer and founder of The Soft Moon, Luis Vasquez.
Taking key notes from post-punk and dark pop pioneers like Joy Division, Bauhaus, Suicide and Nine Inch Nails, Vasquez’s sound has garnered a cult following since his first release in 2010. Last years’ Deeper is a spacious affair with all the favourable lo-fi bells and whistles that we became acquainted with in the s/t LP and the widely praised, Zeros. The resulting record is a merit to Vasquez’s personal development, delivering tracks that aim to confront depression and overwhelming feelings of oblivion.
The Soft Moon’s ubiquity rests with Vasquez’s ability to restrict and mechanize the poppier moments that mesh together his soundscapes. This is achieved through looping precise thuds of bass, enlisting buzz-saw guitars and littering tracks with menacing synth screams.
A show from The Soft Moon promises to be a high energy, hypnotic, multi-sensory experience and is surely not one to be missed.
