Brisbane’s Major Leagues have released a string of accomplished sun-drenched singles since forming in Australia’s Sunshine State just over eighteen months ago. After snaring support from all corners of the globe in 2013, the four-piece capped off a remarkable year with the release of their acclaimed debut EP Weird Season.

Recorded with the assistance of producer Timothy Morrissey (The John Steel Singers) and sound engineers Sean Cook (Big Scary, Jeremy Neale) and Miro Mackie (Little Scout), Weird Season combines an array of influences that steep in 90's shoegaze and 60's garage-pop.

Major Leagues’ three debut singles – ‘Teen Mums’, ‘Endless Drain’ and ‘Silver Tides’ – have catapulted the four-piece into the global blog sphere in 2013, drawing praise from tastemakers in the USA, Canada, South America, Asia, Europe, South Africa, and the UK - where they have recently picked up airplay on leading digital radio station Amazing Radio.

At home in Australia, ‘Endless Drain’ was named #10 in Mess & Noise’s Top Tracks of 2013 in December, after receiving nearly six-months of continuous rotation airplay from national broadcaster triple j. Australian community radio stations have already provided unwavering support for Weird Season, with all three singles from the record receiving airplay support from the likes of FBi, Radio Adelaide, 4ZZZ, RTR, RRR, SYN FM and 2SER.

The band spent a majority of their time in 2013 to early 2015 on the road, performing alongside Beach Fossils (USA), Wye Oak (USA) and Wild Nothing (USA), The Preatures, Ball Park Music, and Jeremy Neale. Major Leagues celebrated the release of their Weird Season EP with their debut Australian headline tour throughout February 2014, supported by Wagga Wagga-via-Fitzroy outfit The Ocean Party.
